I sometimes describe myself as a lifelong student and longtime educator. I hold undergraduate degrees in Philosophy, English, and Theater, an M.A. in English Literature and Composition, and a Ph.D. in English Literature with a concentration in Feminist Ethics. As the executive director of a nonprofit foster care support agency called Beloved, I advocate daily on behalf of vulnerable children. As a mother of multi-racial children, my passion for inclusion and equality holds high personal stakes and demands lots of critical self-reflection. I live in Columbus, Indiana with my husband and five children, three of whom are triplets and four of whom I educate at home. I preach at Ohio Chapel United Methodist Church, and I am a proud, active supporter of our local Terrorz Roller Derby Team.
